Travel Tip of the Week: Washcloths in European Hotels
Travel Tip of the Week by Mama Motzella
I see this question so often. Why aren’t there washcloths in Italian/European hotels?
European hotels don’t commonly provide washcloths/facecloths because it is looked at as a personal item. Many hotel guests think of it as unsanitary and prefer to bring their own.
I have experienced that when traveling in Europe, I will rarely come across a hotel that supplies washcloths. We will get bath towels, hand towels & a bathmat…but not a washcloth.
What do we do about this?
We bring disposable “Face Wipes” and use them as a washcloth. First, I wash my face, then use it as a washcloth on my body, then I dispose of it. Voila!
I usually take them in a Ziplock bag, so I do not have to take the entire package, unless I am on a longer trip. I take the number of days I will be traveling, plus a few more to “spruce up” if needed.
